Supporting Leyburn Junior Football Club

11th November 2015

Sunday 8th November saw former England defender Mike Dawson return to his home town to talk to 120 players and parents from Leyburn Junior FC at the town’s Dalesman Club. The players were encouraged to ask Dawson, who was brought up in Leyburn, about his life and his thoughts on football. During the evening there was also a buffet, raffle and quiz and over £500 was raised for club funds. The Log Company were delighted to be able to offer a raffle prize of a bag of logs to one lucky winner.

Leyburn Junior FC provides coaching to junior teams across all age ranges at the Wensleydale School in Leyburn on Friday evenings. Mark Smith from The Log Company says, “it’s great to see a local organisation encouraging kids to kick a ball about on a Friday evening rather than being cooped up inside watching TV and it’s a fantastic way for parents to spend time with their kids, encouraging them to improve their skills and learn about competition and technique. Leyburn Junior FC need all the funds they can get to keep the teams and training going so we were pleased to be able to help with a raffle prize and hope the winner enjoys their logs this winter”.
